Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans’ Recovery Efforts
Helm Paint & Decorating will serve as a collection point for donated supplies to assist families and the clean-up of flooded homes and businesses in St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington parishes. The donated supplies will be distributed through Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans and utilized during organized volunteer recovery efforts to assist with the removal of debris, trash, and mud/sand.
Donations of formula and diapers as well as basic cleaning supplies, trash bags and retailer gift cards are needed most. Helm Paint & Decorating will collect donations during business hours Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Closed Sunday, at the following locations in New Orleans, Metairie, Mandeville and Hammond:

“Removing debris, assisting with the necessary cleanup, and securing the items that families desperately need is first step in the recovery process,” said Sr. Marjorie Hebert, President and CEO of Catholic Charities. “We are grateful to Helm Painting and Decorating for serving as a collection point for donated cleaning supplies, diapers and formula which will allow Catholic Charities to provide assistance to as many people as possible.”
In addition to collecting donated supplies for Catholic Charities, Helm Paint and Decorating is also offering $25 gift certificates to help subsidize the cost of paint for residents in the impacted areas. “I understand and empathize with those that have been affected by the recent rain events and the aftermath that families are left to deal with. We wanted to do our part to help,” said Joe Helm, General manager of Helm Paint and Decorating, Inc.
